SD18 616 Locomotive

RXCX 616 is a SD18 locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division in 1960 for the Duluth Missabe and Iron Range Railroad. The locomotive was built to haul heavy iron ore trains in Northern Minnesota. The locomotive was later acquired by the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway for use on local trains and as a hump yard switcher.

In 2007 Canadian National Railway acquired the EJ&E and with it SD18 616. The locomotive would retired from Canadian National Railway in 2010. Railexco purchased 616 in 2023 and plans to return it to service in 2024.

SD40A 6014 Locomotive

RXCX 6014 is an EMD SD40A. These were unique six-axle diesel-electric locomotives built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between 1969 and 1970 for the Illinois Central Railroad. Railexco purchased 6014 in 2023 and plans to return it to service by the end of 2025.

SD40As have a longer frame when compared to most other SD40 variants. This allows for a larger 5000 gallon fuel tank. The locomotive is powered by a sixteen-cylinder EMD 645E3 diesel engine, which provides 3,000 horsepower. 6014 is one of only 18 SD40As ever built.
